I think that the soldier holding up his fist is Jeremy.

The batallion he is in at Basic in Fort Jackson, SC has a facebook page that allows for the parents and spouses to be able to communicate with each other about their soldier and it is a way for the Batallion to communicate with us.

Today I was able to talk to him for about a half hour, and it would have been longer, but I was driving, and I told him he needed to call him mom. The reason for the call and the length of time was because they had a soldier die this week or today not to sure on that part from the Swine Flu. The soldiers were given time to call their families to let them know that they were ok. Haven't looked online to see if there was any news about it, and didn't really watch the news today to see after the call, but they figured it might be on the news.

Thaddeus and I are doing great! He is "talking" up a storm, and scooting himself around in circles when he is laying on his back, he can roll over from his tummy to his back, but rarely does it and is almost able to do so from his back. I need to go and get him a Johnny Jump up as he loves to bounce in my lap.

well there is a quick update...I know I have been very bad in blogging lately!

A quick update

Well lets see a lot has happened for Jeremy, Thaddeus and myself.
* August 11 -- Thaddeus and I flew from Boston to Chicago in first class due to itinerary changes. Ended up leaving Chicago two hours late due to a landing gear door malfunction. Found that people are more than willing to jump in help you out at the airport when you have a little one. I had a wonderful woman and her daughters jump in and help me get from one gate to the next in Chicago. I was a bit stressed with a stroller a carry on on wheels, another carry on duffle bag, diaper bag, and small cooler for the breast milk. Then at the gate to get on the plane in Chicago a wonderful couple jumped in and helped me to get on the plane by taking the carry on bag and put it up above in the overhead storage. Then when we landed the same couple pulled my bag down for me, and I suspect they are the ones who opened up the stroller for me. Then I think I was taking to long to get off the plane as one of the crew who cleans the plane helped me to get off the plane and then one of the stewardesses helped me with my bags to get off the breezeway. That same day Jeremy left for Portland, ME to head off to Basic Training. the first 3 or 4 days we were able to talk on the phone, then he was done with processing and is now full fledge basic, he was able to call yesterday and had 4 minutes to talk.

Since Thaddeus and I have been home we have traveled to Tacoma to have lunch with a friend, surprised another friend before she left for Mexico with the youth from her church for a short mission trip. We have been blessed to go to dinner with another friend before she leaves tomorrow for S.Korea to teach english for a year. Went to the Kitsap Modern Mom's meet up group where her got to meet a lot of friends. Has gone with his grandma to go shopping, and to the sewing chicks for a surprise baby shower that was thrown for grandma for him.

Well that is the quick update, will post some pictures in a few days once I get them all transfered to the computer.

Found some cool features on the camera

Jeremy and I went down to Portsmouth for lunch, and decided to take advantage of the beautiful day, took a lot of pictures, and on the way home I played with the different effects on the camera.

Camo

This morning Thaddeus looked up at Jeremy's uniform hanging up to dry, and got the biggest smile on his face! I hope that he has bonded strongly with Jeremy, so that when he gets back from boot camp and training, Thaddeus will still know who his daddy is.

Trying to capture Thaddeus smiling and his laugh

Yesterday Thaddeus actually laughed out loud, it was a short laugh, but very cute, so we tried to capture it on video, didn't quite get it, but got a cute video of Jeremy and Thaddeus.

Eugene O'Neill Childhood homestead

From the sidewalk in front of the home in New London, CT. We were told that his mom had family in the area, so they bought this home as a summer home to live at when the Theater shut down for the summer. His father was a famous actor of the time. The windows off to the left of the front porch is the room that is generally recreated in his autobiographical play "A Long Day's Journey Into Night". The curators have done a wonderful job preserving what was originally the O'Neill family's furniture and such, and finding period pieces of furniture to fill the home with. His father had the ceillings raised on the main floor to give the appearance of having more money, and you really notice it when you go upstairs, as I believe that I would be able to touch the ceilling on the second level, and I am only 5 foot 1.75 inches!

Eugene's father traveled playing the Count of Monte Cristo.

The O'Neill family sold the home to another private owner, and that private owner later sold it to the O'Neill Theater group (Not to sure what the actual name of the group is), which maintains the property, the Docent said that they will have theatrical performances at times in the home, next weekend he said that they are having some French poets who will be doing a reading there.

The light house from the time that Eugene was a child, it was moved off the coast, and is now someones home. The foghorn from this lighthouse tormented his mother Ella as she was addicted to morphine. It was the drug of choice to give to new mothers for the pain after childbirth.

The docent was very kind and gave Jeremy and I a quick tour of the home, later on after we had left I found out that he was extra kind and did not charge Jeremy and I the fee to be able to tour the home of $7 a person.
We had a wonderful time, and I would definately recommend going if you happen to be in the area.

A day in Mystic, CT

We tried to get a good picture of the 3 of us, but this was the best that we could do.

The "Famous" Mystic Pizza...Below is from Wikipedia about the movie with Julia Roberts:
The film is about the coming of age of two sisters and their friend, as seen through the romantic lives of the three main characters: Kat, Daisy, and Jojo, who all work as waitresses at Mystic Pizza in Mystic, Connecticut. Mystic in the film is represented as a fishing town with a large Portuguese American population, though that description more closely resembles neighboring Stonington, Connecticut, where many scenes were filmed.
The movie also touches on an Old World work ethic. Kat and Daisy are sisters and rivals; the former studies astronomy, works at a local planetarium, as well as the restaurant, and has been accepted to attend Yale University, while the latter just wants to have fun. Kat is the apple of her Portuguese mother's eye, while Daisy is not: She is promiscuous and is not as goal-oriented as her younger sister.
There is also a dynamic between Kat's Anglo-American employer and the resulting relationship between them. The class distinctions and variant European heritages are explored in various scenes of the film.
Vincent D'Onofrio, William R. Moses and Adam Storke co-star; in his screen debut, Matt Damon has a small part (his sole line in the film being, "Mom, do you want my green stuff?" while eating lobster).
The title of the film was based on a pizza shop that caught the eye of Hollywood screen writer, Amy Holden Jones. A restaurant named Mystic Pizza in Mystic, Connecticut has become popular among summer tourists due to the film's success.

Jeremy and Thaddeus on the little drawbridge ove the Mystic River. We may go back and go on a 40 minute river boat cruise for 5 bucks a person. It was a bit wet, and we were just a little tired.

A video of Thaddeus

Here is a video of the first hour of Thaddeus' life!

oh and that picture I promised of Thaddeus under the "tannning" lights with his cool shades.

We have a good video of his first bath, but not sure if it would be appropriate to show since it also shows all the goods as well. Figure that since I am not sure if it would be appropriate, I am not going to post it, unless I can find a way to edit it so that there is some kind of sensorship on that part. :)

I am also going to try to post at least a picture a day as well for everyone.

Thaddeus Update

Well he is doing really well. He weighed in at 8lbs 14oz today. His pediatrician was extactic about that. He is still having trouble latching on. Dr. Pivor isn't to concerned, because he is still getting my milk. I am pumping and putting in a bottle, as always trying to get him to latch on has become so stressful, that it is easier to pump. The nurse at the pediatrician's office is also a lactation consultant, and encouraged me as to the fact that he is at least getting the breast milk. She did notice that the breast shield that I have is to large, so I need to go back to the VNA office and get a smaller shield, to see if that will help. All in all I think I have a lazy and very stubborn kid, and he is only 2.5 weeks old! He is doing well enough though that he doesn't have to go back until his 2 month appointment.

A big update

Well on May 6th I went into the hospital for an overnight stay to confirm that I did indeed have pre-eclampsia, that stay ended up in my being told that I had severe pre-eclampsia. Before that they did an amniocentisis to determine if Thaddeus' lungs were mature enough to deliver, and if they weren't I was going to be in the hospital on bed rest until they were. Dr. MacVittie found that there was myconium in the fluids and it would mess up the tests. She then looked at the blood pressure readings over the preceding 30 hours and found that I had had 2 blood pressure results that were160 or higher over the 80's. She looked at me and told me that that told her what to do, and that was to deliver Thaddeus.

He was born by C-section at 10:40 pm. He weighed 8lbs 5oz, and was 21 inches long. (Makes me kinda glad he was 3 weeks early)

He had low blood sugar, I was told it was a result of my being on insulin to treat my type 1 diabetes, and it just needed to work out the extra insulin. They fed him a bottle of formula to bring up the blood sugar. He must have been hungary as he drank 30mL, about an ounce. Then we found out that he had Jaundice. So he spent a whole day in the bed for that. The on-call OB that came in to check on me on Sunday, enabled me to be able to also be there by pointing out that I had had some blood sugar spikes, I was thankful to still be a patient for one more day. ( I will have to add the photo of him later where he is under the bilirubin lights as that is on Jeremy's laptop not mine.)We were both discharged on Monday. We are doing well. He is having a hard time latching on for breastfeeding, but part of that is he was tongue tied which made it a very unpleasant experience for both of us. To correct the tongue tied issue we went to an ENT who snipped the frenulum to allow him to be able to stick his tongue out, before he was only able to reach his gums.If you look at his forehead, you will see a bruise on it that was curtesy of Dr. MacVittie. He did not want to come out of me. They had to use the vaccuum suction to help get him out. I had no idea that they had even cut me open to take him out, and when they were trying to pull him out of the womb it felt like someone was sitting and bouncing on my stomach. Well, I will write more later. It is time to try to go and get some sleep.

Thaddeus Update

Why do hospitals advertise the birthing rooms as being extremely comfortable, when the beds are absolutely not comfortable at all? Thursday I went in for my bi-weekly NST. Thaddeus had a significant drop in his heart rate, and then it rose really quickly, and I guess I was having some contractions, so they sent me up to Labor and Delivery to be hooked up to the NST machine there, and decided to keep me overnight to make sure Thaddeus was ok. They aren't to sure what caused the dip and rise in his heart rate, but said I could go home. Dr. Mirabello called and talked with the doctors up in Portland, ME, and I am safe to be home for the weekend. He is concerned about my eyes. The report from 2 weeks ago said that I had proliferative retinopathy and then report from my exam on Thursday said that there was no change and that it was not the proliferative retinopathy. Thank you Jesus!! People have been praying and I believe that God did some work on my eyes. Dr. Mirabello wants to talk to Dr. Goldblatt, and then the doctors up at Maine Medical to see what needs to be done. Frisbee is a small town hospital that is not equiped to handle a very small premie, so if I were to go into labor right now they would have to transport Thaddeus up to Maine Med where they have the NICU. Dr. Mirabello also made a slight reference to me possibly being put into the hospital for the rest of the pregnancy. Dr. MacVittie when I asked her about how early of birth would Frisbee be able to have me deliver there said 37 weeks, normally it would be 36 weeks, but she said that due to my being a diabetic that the lungs on Thaddeus are probably under developed. So please keep praying for Thaddeus to continue to grow and develop as he should be. They are also amazed that I have carried this far along with no complications for Thaddeus and only the couple that I do have, considering my diabetes was not in control when I got pregnant. She said that usually a diabetic where I was out is lucky to carry to 28 weeks, I have made it to 33 weeks so far. Again God is truelly an awesome God.

Delivery date update

Yesterday I went for my weekly ultrasound, and NST. When I saw Dr. MacVittie I was told that due to the issues with my eyes, and I believe some other things, Dr. Pinet up at Maine Medical wants me to have a C-Section at 39 weeks. That is all I know for now, but I will be finding out more at Thursdays appointment. I have to do another round of lab work, including a 24 hour urine test. I believe that Dr. Pinet wants me to have that done every couple of weeks to monitor my kidneys and such. But aside from all that Thaddeus appears to be on target with where he is supposed to be.

A kinda belly picture for those who have been asking :)

Jeremy thought it would be funny to take a picture of me sitting on the couch. That day my back was really hurting so I had the blankets and pillows arranged so I would be comfortable, along with the heating pack. In this picture I am about 30 weeks pregnant.

Surprise

Well on Saturday I thought I was just going to go out to lunch with Jeremy's mom, and Aunt. We did that, then his mom had his Aunt drive around, missing where she would need to turn every time to get me home. Well the reason was she was trying to throw me off, (which she did, and wouldn't have had to do so elaborately) We ended up at Jeremy's best friend's home. Janice, Tom's wife had been planning for awhile a surprise baby shower for me. I had a wonderful time, and got many great gifts, both store bought and home made ( Love the diaper bag that Tom's mom made). The Inside of the diaper bag.

Jeremy's mom made a really cute Clifford quilt.

The funny thing about all this is the fact that the night before I was telling Jeremy if I were to go into labor the next day we were in no way prepared to have a baby. He told me not to worry, he is pretty good at keeping a secret! We are now rudamentally prepared if Thaddeus decided to join the world earlier than he is expected. We have a carseat, stroller, size 1 diapers, wipes, bath stuff, blankets, and clothes! So we can atleast get him home from the hospital when the time comes.

A few updates

Mom
She is in the clear for 6 months on the cancer. Was told that it has a 10% chance to grow back, and for the next 5 years will go in every 6 months for testing.

Thaddeus
I had my first NST for the week and my weekly biophysical exam this past Monday. He is very active, and not one to like having everything on him looked at through ultrasound. He is according to the doctor measuring out perfectly for how far along I am. He weighed giver or take 10 oz 4.6 lbs, and I am 31 weeks. Yeah!!

Diabetes
Being pregnant is definately taking its toll on parts of my body. Dr. MacVittie had blood work done, and my kidneys are doing ok, but the elevated proteins is normal for me so she is not to worried yet. My eyes are taking the worst of the strain on my body. I knew before I got pregnant that I had retinopathy, but had been told that it was mild, and if I got diligent about taking care of my diabetes it should not get worse, well getting pregnant exacerbated it. It is now moderate to severe. In my left eye I have proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDR).

( This is taken from the pamphlet that the eye doctor gave to me to understand what is going on in my eyes) PDR is present when abnormal new vessels (neovascularization) begin growing on the surface of the retina or optic nerve. The main cause of PDR is widespread closure of retinal blood vessels, preventing adequate blood flow. The retina responds by growing new blood vessels in an attempt to supply blood to the are where the original vessels closed.

Unfortunately, the new abnormal blood vessels do not resupply the retina with normal blood flow. The new vessels are often accompanied by scar tissue that may cause wrinkling or detachment of the retina.

Dr. Goldblatt explained that right now it is not affecting my vision, my left eye they are able to correct to 20/15. But it can get worse. I see him again on Tuesday, so he can monitor how bad it is getting. The treatment for it is laser surgery, but he wants to do that when it is absolutely necessary as in my left I will loose my night and peripheral vision. The laser surgery will burn all the new blood cells, and leave little burn marks on my retina.

In my right eye I have the NPDR. (again taken from the pamphlet) NPDR, commonly known as background retinopathy, is an early stage of diabetic retinopathy. In this stage, tiny blood vessels within the retina leak blood or fluid. The leaking fluid causes the retina to swell or to form deposits called exudates. Many people with diabetes have mild NPDR, which usually does not affect their vision. When vision is affected it is the result of macular edema and/or macular ischemia.
(I have the macular edema) Macular edema is swelling or thickening of the macula, a small area in the center of the retina that allows us to see fine details clearly. The swelling is caused by fluid leaking from retinal blood vessels. It is the most common cause of visual loss in diabetes. Vision loss may be mild to severe, but even in the worst cases, peripheral vision continues to function.

Dr. Goldblatt, said the way to correct this will also be with laser at a lower setting than what would be used to correct the left eye. He knows of no side effects from it, but my eye sight in the right eye will not improve. They were only able to correct it to 20/30 in the right eye and that was still quite blurry.

So if you would please pray that my eyes will not get any worse, and that God would even heal the damage done to them already, and to continue to pray for my mom, and for the health of Thaddeus, that he will be born healthy and with no complications.

Michelle

PDR may cause more severe vision loss than NPDR (nonproliferative diabetid retinopathy) because it can affect both central and peripheral vision.

The 23rd Psalm...The Sailor's Version

I just found the program from my Grandpa Bob's Memorial Service, and this was in it.

The Lord is my Pilot - I shall not drift.
He leadeth me across dark waters.
He steereth me in the deep channels.
He keepeth my log; He guideth me by the star of His Holiness for His name's sake.
Yea, though I sail amid the thunders
and tempests of life, I shall fear no danger, for Thou art near me.
Thy love and Thy care, they shelter me.
Though prepareth a harbor before me in the the land of eternity.
Thou anointed the waves with oil.
My ship rideth calmly.
Surely sunlight and starlight shall favor me in the voyage I take.
Then I shall rest in the port of my God forever.

I just thought that I would share as I know many sailors, not just my Grandpa who retired from the Navy.

Pray for my mom please

I found out tonight after talking to my mom that the mass that they removed along with a portion of her kidney on Monday was definately cancerous. She is home from the hospital, and they have to do tests and such to make sure that it has not spread anywhere else. If that is the case then she for the next 5 years has to have chest x-rays, MRIs and CAT scans, and blood work to make sure that it has not surfaced anywhere else.

So please pray that it has not spread anywhere else, and that they caught it early enough that it won't be an issue.

29 week ultrasound

Well today I had my weekly ultrasound. I have determined that I have a very stubborn son. Thaddeus would move when the Ultrasound Tech needed him to be still, like when she was trying to get a recording of the heartbeat in the umbilical chord. Then when she needed him to move around he would not. She tapped on my belly with the wand and he still would not move, she finally had me move over onto my left side and that got him moving again.

Then it was off to the OB office. I was told for being 29.5 weeks, the echo stress test on the baby was great, my lab work I had done on Friday was at least normal. My proteins on the 24 hour urine where a little above normal. Normal being 300 or lower, mine was 318. Which is ok, considering I do have the beginnings of Kidney disease. The doctor just wanted to get where I am at now so they know when to freak out later on.

I will post the ultrasound pictures and maybe a belly picture a little later, but right now Jeremy and I are off to have dinner at Applebee's!!

safe again

Well yesterday I got a letter in the mail from work, I missed being layed off, due to the fact that I am on short term disability due to my pregnancy. Praise God, because I wouldn't be able to go out and get a job now, and I still need those paychecks. But on my expected date of return I should expect to get layed off, due to an extremely slow time at work. With the hopes of being recalled in September when things are supposed to get busy again. This is the second layoff at work that I have missed. Was told that if I had been working and not out on short term disability I would have been layed off this last Thursday. This is just another way for God to confirm that He definately takes care of us. When I should expect to get layed off is ok, because Jeremy and I have been seriously talking about me not going back to work, so I can go out to Washington while he is away at boot camp and AIT, which is 7 months long total. So am definately thankful for all of this.

Just thought I would share how things are going. Oh and we were able to get the downstairs rented out quickly and to a very sweet young married couple, who are quiet!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope you all have a great day.

March 14, 2009

I never want to make fudge again!!!!!!!!!!!

Why do I always say I am going to make something for a group get together that I tend to get so pissy while I am making it. I wish I thought that store bought tasted so much better, because then it would be so much easier to just go and buy it!!

Sorry about the venting, I just got done making fudge, it isn't so bad, but my back is already sore from being pregnant, and to have to stand there for 20 min or so stirring the concoction makes it even worse.

Baby movements

I think I have been feeling Thaddeus moving around for about a month now, but was doubting it, because I have had such severe constipation. Well yesterday and this morning, I definately know that it is him stretching out or hiccupping. He is most active when I first wake up in the morning and again when I go to bed at night. But I also don't think that he likes when I sit with proper posture either. I think when I sit that way I can wake him up and get him moving.

I am so excited!! I am now 28 and half weeks pregnant. One of these days I will actually get some prego belly pictures. Since I am high risk, I start going in every week for an ultrasound, and at 32 weeks I go in twice a week for an ultrasound.

I have been doing well in monitoring my diabetes, but am finding that it is hard to keep my blood sugars down. I was told this would happen, and actually had the doctor up at Maine Medical in Portland explain why. The placenta produces a hormone that inhibits the Insulins ability to do it's job. The only thing with my being diabetic is Thaddeus doesn't know that I don't need that to happen, and the doctor said even in the womb a baby doesn't know that to much of a good thing is a bad thing.

On another note...

Jeremy's ex-wife has finally moved out, and we are in the process of finding a tenant to move in.
So please pray that we will find the right tenant, and not jump to move in the first person who is available to move in now.

Some Wedding pictures

Jeremy's uncle had some cool features on his camera, he wanted to get a silhoute of us with the river behind us.
Our first kiss and Mr. and Mrs. Saunders

Another cool picture his uncle took.

Us before the ceremony

The sign for the restaurant we were married at. If you ever happen to find yourself in Portsmouth, NH you should go and eat there. It is really good food, and down in the center of the historical part of Portsmouth.
P.S. I know the pictures are backwards, but I didn't realize I was uploading them in that order.

I'm Married

Jeremy and I were married on Saturday February 21, 2009 at 11 am at the Stockpot in Portsmouth, NH. The restraunt was great, they allowed us to come in have a very simple ceremony and then lunch with no extra charge. Marry Berry was the Justice of the Peace and she was great. We had some of Jeremy's family there and a couple of friends.

I will add some pictures later.

Funny Valentine's day story...

Well Jeremy took me out to dinner at the Old Salt Restaurant at Lammie's Inn in Hampton, NH for Valentines Day. He ordered a haddock (white fish out here that they cook instead of Halibut), and I ordered boiled lobster. Now I am thinking of getting lobster at Red Lobster, it is a lobster tail with no little legs still attached and split open. Not what I got. Our wonderful waitress Judy brings me two plates, one with my mashed potatoes and carrots on it, the other with a whole lobster with all little legs attached and anntenae and eyeballs attached. I started to cry, I was thinking lobster tail. Jeremy tried to help me get into it, I didn't want it staring at me while I took it appart or while I was eating it. Judy came back to check on us, and took pity on me and broke the front claws off, and took the tail off, then she took the body away so I wouldn't have to look at it. After that was all said and done, the lobster was great, and Jeremy had all the lobster guts all over him, instead of me!!

Baby Update

Well Tuesday I went up to Maine Medical for the second set of Ultrasounds. Was told that he looked healthy and everything looks healthy. He is approximated to weigh 1 lb 7oz right now. Definately is a boy, and he likes to sleep with one hand under his head. Then Wednesday I went to my OB in Rochester, and he told me that everything looked good. He wants me to go back to Maine Medical for one more set of Ultrasounds then I can do the rest in Rochester. They want me to go once a month until I am 28 weeks, then at 28 weeks I have to go every 2 weeks, and then at 32 weeks I have to twice a week for ultrasounds. My OB said that now the goal is to keep me pregnant as long as possible, because that is one less day that the baby will spend in the hospital after he is born. He told me that the baby would probably survive at this point if he decided he wanted to be born. Which makes me happy to know that I am doing what I am supposed to I guess. But definately want to make it to full term if possible.

Just thought I would share,
Michelle

Grandpa Bob

My mom called me today to tell me that my Grandpa had passed away. He was always there for me whenever I needed anything. When I moved back home after my ex-husband left me, he would remind my Grandma that I was an adult and not a child. She always wanted to know the who, what, when, where, why, whenever I was going out with friends.

I guess he called around 6 or so in the morning to make sure that my mom and Grandma were going out to visit him at the nursing home that day. My said yes as soon as Grandma got up they would be out. The nursing home called an hour later to tell them that they were rushing my grandpa to the hospital. They got to the emergency room, and he didn't make it. The ER staff tried to recusitate him, and were unable to.

Please pray for the financial stuff to be worked out for my Grandma, and for me to be able to make it out to Washington to be able to be there for the services.

January 24, 2009

A prayer request

Well Jeremy got back this morning from MEPS. He is now a member of the National Guard. He will be going to Basic Training August 12, and when he is done with that 9 week training, he will then be going to his advance training which is 18 weeks long. So we are trying to figure out what to do, as I will be new mom. One idea is for us to work hard on getting a lot of the debt cleared away so I won't have to go back to work, and then either fly or drive out to Washington for those 7 months, to be with my family and friends, since I haven't had the warmest reception here in New Hampshire. Yes there are a couple of friends I have made, and we have a great church family, but I don't do so well when he goes away on 1 or 2 week travel trips for work. I know I will be able to get through this time, but it is hard when you are used to always having family around. It would also be a chance to spend time with my grandpa and for him to get to spend time with his new great grandson. But we also realize that this may not be able to happen. The other issue will be while he is away it will be really tight financially if we are unable to get a renter for the downstairs half of the duplex, and possibly someone who would be willing to know taht they would need to move out after the 7 months for the upstairs. While he is away at basic and advanced training he will be on leave without pay from his wonderful job at the shipyard.

So please keep us in your prayers, as we have some hard decisions to make.

Michelle

Baby and life update

Well we went to The Maternal and Fetal Clinic at Maine Medical in Portland on Tuesday. The doctor said that so far everything looks good. I have to go back on February 10th. The baby was stubborn and would not turn so the Ultrasound Tech could not get all the views of the heart. That was the most important organ that they wanted to get views on. I asked about cleft pallette and hair lip as that is something that runs in my family, and he said that there were no signs of either in the ultrasound. Asked about Scoliosis as that runs in Jeremy's family, we were told that that is not a birth defect but a developmental defect, and to advise our pediatrician so they can watch for it as the baby grows. He also gave me somethings to watch for with my diabetes, in the 3rd trimester. I was also told that I should be able to have the baby in Rochester, unless the baby has to be born to prematurely that Frisbee Memorial would not be able to keep me and the baby safe. Oh and to finish this part of the blog we found out that we are having a boy.

On another note Jeremy and I are going to get married. We are just going to do a justice of the peace and later on celebrate with our family and friends back in Washington.

just a quick update

I am not big on writing, usually do better if some calls me or I run into them at the store. But I am trying to write more since there is about 3000 miles between me and the majority of the people who are reading this.

I went to the OB today, he said that the pap I had at the beginning of my pregnancy show mild abnormal cells so at this time he opted to not do a colposcopy, but said at some point they will go and do just a look see, with no cells being taken to do a biopsy, since I am pregnant. That will be done after I deliver. They say I am 16 and a half weeks along. He said that I have gained extra weight, but due to my being diabetic and not wanting to starve me he is not to concerned about the weight gain. I am now waiting for the office to call me with an appointment up in Portland, ME for an ultrasound. That appointment will be in about 2 weeks. Due to my being high risk they want me to get established up there, in case I have to go there to deliver the baby instead of at Frisbee in Rochester. He did the fetal heartbeat and it was good and strong.

Well everything else is going well. Our roommate is moving out this month, so things will be a little tighter financially but am not worried about finances. Cause I know so long as I am not making stupid decisions God will provide us with what we need. He always does. Even if we don't see it. Still struggling with not having friends and family around to go and do things, but Jeremy and I have been going to a small group that has been a great mid week refreshing to the soul. Still not to excited about being a parent yet, not feeling pregnant but just FAT!!

anyways hope everyone is doing well.
