Camo
This morning Thaddeus looked up at Jeremy's uniform hanging up to dry, and got the biggest smile on his face! I hope that he has bonded strongly with Jeremy, so that when he gets back from boot camp and training, Thaddeus will still know who his daddy is.

Trying to capture Thaddeus smiling and his laugh
Yesterday Thaddeus actually laughed out loud, it was a short laugh, but very cute, so we tried to capture it on video, didn't quite get it, but got a cute video of Jeremy and Thaddeus.

Eugene O'Neill Childhood homestead
From the sidewalk in front of the home in New London, CT. We were told that his mom had family in the area, so they bought this home as a summer home to live at when the Theater shut down for the summer. His father was a famous actor of the time. The windows off to the left of the front porch is the room that is generally recreated in his autobiographical play "A Long Day's Journey Into Night". The curators have done a wonderful job preserving what was originally the O'Neill family's furniture and such, and finding period pieces of furniture to fill the home with. His father had the ceillings raised on the main floor to give the appearance of having more money, and you really notice it when you go upstairs, as I believe that I would be able to touch the ceilling on the second level, and I am only 5 foot 1.75 inches!
Eugene's father traveled playing the Count of Monte Cristo.

The O'Neill family sold the home to another private owner, and that private owner later sold it to the O'Neill Theater group (Not to sure what the actual name of the group is), which maintains the property, the Docent said that they will have theatrical performances at times in the home, next weekend he said that they are having some French poets who will be doing a reading there.

The light house from the time that Eugene was a child, it was moved off the coast, and is now someones home. The foghorn from this lighthouse tormented his mother Ella as she was addicted to morphine. It was the drug of choice to give to new mothers for the pain after childbirth.

The docent was very kind and gave Jeremy and I a quick tour of the home, later on after we had left I found out that he was extra kind and did not charge Jeremy and I the fee to be able to tour the home of $7 a person.
We had a wonderful time, and I would definately recommend going if you happen to be in the area.

A day in Mystic, CT
We tried to get a good picture of the 3 of us, but this was the best that we could do.
The film is about the coming of age of two sisters and their friend, as seen through the romantic lives of the three main characters: Kat, Daisy, and Jojo, who all work as waitresses at Mystic Pizza in Mystic, Connecticut. Mystic in the film is represented as a fishing town with a large Portuguese American population, though that description more closely resembles neighboring Stonington, Connecticut, where many scenes were filmed.
The movie also touches on an Old World work ethic. Kat and Daisy are sisters and rivals; the former studies astronomy, works at a local planetarium, as well as the restaurant, and has been accepted to attend Yale University, while the latter just wants to have fun. Kat is the apple of her Portuguese mother's eye, while Daisy is not: She is promiscuous and is not as goal-oriented as her younger sister.
There is also a dynamic between Kat's Anglo-American employer and the resulting relationship between them. The class distinctions and variant European heritages are explored in various scenes of the film.
Vincent D'Onofrio, William R. Moses and Adam Storke co-star; in his screen debut, Matt Damon has a small part (his sole line in the film being, "Mom, do you want my green stuff?" while eating lobster).
The title of the film was based on a pizza shop that caught the eye of Hollywood screen writer, Amy Holden Jones. A restaurant named Mystic Pizza in Mystic, Connecticut has become popular among summer tourists due to the film's success.

A video of Thaddeus
Here is a video of the first hour of Thaddeus' life!
oh and that picture I promised of Thaddeus under the "tannning" lights with his cool shades.

We have a good video of his first bath, but not sure if it would be appropriate to show since it also shows all the goods as well. Figure that since I am not sure if it would be appropriate, I am not going to post it, unless I can find a way to edit it so that there is some kind of sensorship on that part. :)
I am also going to try to post at least a picture a day as well for everyone.

Thaddeus Update
Well he is doing really well. He weighed in at 8lbs 14oz today. His pediatrician was extactic about that. He is still having trouble latching on. Dr. Pivor isn't to concerned, because he is still getting my milk. I am pumping and putting in a bottle, as always trying to get him to latch on has become so stressful, that it is easier to pump. The nurse at the pediatrician's office is also a lactation consultant, and encouraged me as to the fact that he is at least getting the breast milk. She did notice that the breast shield that I have is to large, so I need to go back to the VNA office and get a smaller shield, to see if that will help. All in all I think I have a lazy and very stubborn kid, and he is only 2.5 weeks old! He is doing well enough though that he doesn't have to go back until his 2 month appointment.

A big update
Well on May 6th I went into the hospital for an overnight stay to confirm that I did indeed have pre-eclampsia, that stay ended up in my being told that I had severe pre-eclampsia. Before that they did an amniocentisis to determine if Thaddeus' lungs were mature enough to deliver, and if they weren't I was going to be in the hospital on bed rest until they were. Dr. MacVittie found that there was myconium in the fluids and it would mess up the tests. She then looked at the blood pressure readings over the preceding 30 hours and found that I had had 2 blood pressure results that were160 or higher over the 80's. She looked at me and told me that that told her what to do, and that was to deliver Thaddeus.
He was born by C-section at 10:40 pm. He weighed 8lbs 5oz, and was 21 inches long. (Makes me kinda glad he was 3 weeks early)

He had low blood sugar, I was told it was a result of my being on insulin to treat my type 1 diabetes, and it just needed to work out the extra insulin. They fed him a bottle of formula to bring up the blood sugar. He must have been hungary as he drank 30mL, about an ounce. Then we found out that he had Jaundice. So he spent a whole day in the bed for that. The on-call OB that came in to check on me on Sunday, enabled me to be able to also be there by pointing out that I had had some blood sugar spikes, I was thankful to still be a patient for one more day. ( I will have to add the photo of him later where he is under the bilirubin lights as that is on Jeremy's laptop not mine.)We were both discharged on Monday. We are doing well. He is having a hard time latching on for breastfeeding, but part of that is he was tongue tied which made it a very unpleasant experience for both of us. To correct the tongue tied issue we went to an ENT who snipped the frenulum to allow him to be able to stick his tongue out, before he was only able to reach his gums.
If you look at his forehead, you will see a bruise on it that was curtesy of Dr. MacVittie. He did not want to come out of me. They had to use the vaccuum suction to help get him out. I had no idea that they had even cut me open to take him out, and when they were trying to pull him out of the womb it felt like someone was sitting and bouncing on my stomach. Well, I will write more later. It is time to try to go and get some sleep.

Thaddeus Update
Why do hospitals advertise the birthing rooms as being extremely comfortable, when the beds are absolutely not comfortable at all? Thursday I went in for my bi-weekly NST. Thaddeus had a significant drop in his heart rate, and then it rose really quickly, and I guess I was having some contractions, so they sent me up to Labor and Delivery to be hooked up to the NST machine there, and decided to keep me overnight to make sure Thaddeus was ok. They aren't to sure what caused the dip and rise in his heart rate, but said I could go home. Dr. Mirabello called and talked with the doctors up in Portland, ME, and I am safe to be home for the weekend. He is concerned about my eyes. The report from 2 weeks ago said that I had proliferative retinopathy and then report from my exam on Thursday said that there was no change and that it was not the proliferative retinopathy. Thank you Jesus!! People have been praying and I believe that God did some work on my eyes. Dr. Mirabello wants to talk to Dr. Goldblatt, and then the doctors up at Maine Medical to see what needs to be done. Frisbee is a small town hospital that is not equiped to handle a very small premie, so if I were to go into labor right now they would have to transport Thaddeus up to Maine Med where they have the NICU. Dr. Mirabello also made a slight reference to me possibly being put into the hospital for the rest of the pregnancy. Dr. MacVittie when I asked her about how early of birth would Frisbee be able to have me deliver there said 37 weeks, normally it would be 36 weeks, but she said that due to my being a diabetic that the lungs on Thaddeus are probably under developed. So please keep praying for Thaddeus to continue to grow and develop as he should be. They are also amazed that I have carried this far along with no complications for Thaddeus and only the couple that I do have, considering my diabetes was not in control when I got pregnant. She said that usually a diabetic where I was out is lucky to carry to 28 weeks, I have made it to 33 weeks so far. Again God is truelly an awesome God.
